BSP Implementation of Prevention and Treatment of Peri-implant Diseases: The EFP S3 Level Clinical Practice Guideline

In September 2023, the BSP began the task of reviewing the final recommendations of the EFP Peri-Implantitis Treatment Guidelines to ensure they were appropriate to share with UK dental professionals (dentists, hygienists, therapists), patients and the public.

Professor West and Professor Kebschull led four working groups who met online to focus on the systematic reviews in the publication. The BSP is extremely grateful to all of the dental professionals, medical experts, stakeholders and BSP Patient Forum members, who dedicated a considerable amount of time to this project. Their support in reviewing the guideline document and contributing to the workshop discussions helped to make this project a huge success. By working together, we can make a difference and improve gum health in the UK.

In addition, to help dental care professionals implement the guidelines in clinical practice, we are presenting a series of four webinars relating to the S3 Peri-Implant Disease Guideline document. The webinars are free for members and non-members, as BSP is keen to support the wider dental community and promote best practice in UK dentistry.
